Social Work, MSW
George Mason's accredited Master of Social Work (MSW) program, which began in the fall of 2002, prepares students for advanced social work practice. Our MSW program provides students with an initial Generalist year, followed by a year of Specialized study. The program is offered both on-campus and online. Students admitted to the on-campus program have the option of enrolling under a two-year, three-year, or four-year plan. Those who have earned a BSW degree from a CSWE-accredited program may qualify for the Advanced Standing program. Learn more about the MSW.
Master of Public Health (MPH), Health Equity and Social Justice Concentration
The Social Justice and Health Equity concentration of Mason’s Master of Public Health program is a collaboration between the Departments of Global and Community Health and Social Work. Students critically evaluate the social determinants of health, analyze the root causes of structural inequities, and develop a range of interventions and strategies to advance health equity and social justice in public health practice and policy.
