The Department of Social Work awards a number of graduate research and teaching assistantship positions for the academic year (August 25 - May 24). Depending on availability of funds, one-semester positions may be available. The positions will involve work within the social work department, under the supervision of social work faculty. The following are the specifics:
- 10 hr/wk positions are available.
- Fall 2025-Spring 2026 positions are available.
- Selection is based on merit: strong academic record (ability to write, critically think, and conduct research) and financial need.
- Positions are open to new and continuing students.
- Tuition assistance is not available.
Graduate research/teaching assistantship (GRA/GTA) applications are being accepted for Fall 2025-Spring 2026. The application deadline is March 31, 2025. Please complete the application and submit a resume electronically to socw@gmu.edu.
